Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA must comply with the following guidelines. Manuscripts that do not conform to these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before entering the peer-review process.
- General Requirements
- The manuscript must be an original scientific work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication in another journal.
- The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA .
- The manuscript must be written in clear and academically appropriate English or Indonesian.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of grammar, spelling, terminology, citations, tables, figures, and references.
- The manuscript must be submitted through the SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA Online Journal System.
- All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
- The manuscript must comply with the journal’s publication ethics, plagiarism policy, copyright policy, and peer-review procedure.
- Types of Manuscripts
SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Case Studies
- Conceptual Papers
- Technical Papers
- Short Communications
- Other scholarly articles relevant to the journal’s focus and scope
The editor reserves the right to determine whether a submitted manuscript is suitable for publication in SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA .
- Manuscript Format
The manuscript should be prepared using the official SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA article template.
The general manuscript format is as follows:
- File format: Microsoft Word document
- Paper size: A4
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 11 or 12 points
- Line spacing: Single spacing
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Paragraph alignment: Justified
- Page numbers: Included
- Manuscript length: Approximately 6–15 pages, excluding appendices
- Language: English or Indonesian
Authors must use consistent formatting throughout the manuscript.
- Structure of the Manuscript
The manuscript should contain the following sections:
4.1 Title
The title must:
- Accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
- Be clear, concise, informative, and specific.
- Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and formulas.
- Be written using a maximum of approximately 15 words.
4.2 Author Names and Affiliations
The manuscript must include:
- Full names of all authors without academic titles.
- Institutional affiliations.
- Department or study program.
- Institution name.
- City and country.
- Email address of the corresponding author.
The corresponding author must be clearly identified.
4.3 Abstract
The abstract must:
- Be written in English and, where required, Indonesian.
- Contain approximately 150–250 words.
- Be written as a single paragraph.
- Briefly explain the research background, objective, method, results, and conclusion.
- Avoid citations, tables, figures, equations, and uncommon abbreviations.
4.4 Keywords
Authors must provide three to five keywords that represent the main topics of the manuscript.
Keywords should:
- Be arranged alphabetically where possible.
- Be separated by semicolons.
- Avoid repeating words already used extensively in the title.
- Use specific terms that support article indexing.
4.5 Introduction
The introduction should explain:
- The background of the study.
- The research problem.
- The current state of knowledge.
- Relevant previous studies.
- The research gap.
- The novelty or contribution of the study.
- The objective of the research.
The introduction should be supported by relevant and recent references.
4.6 Research Method
The research method should describe:
- The research design.
- Research location and period, where relevant.
- Population and sample.
- Participants or research subjects.
- Data sources.
- Research instruments.
- Data collection procedures.
- Data analysis techniques.
- Ethical approval, where applicable.
The method must be explained in sufficient detail to allow the research to be understood and replicated.
4.7 Results and Discussion
The results section should present the findings clearly, logically, and systematically.
The discussion should:
- Interpret the research findings.
- Explain the meaning and significance of the results.
- Compare the findings with previous studies.
- Explain similarities, differences, implications, and limitations.
- Demonstrate the contribution and novelty of the study.
- Avoid merely repeating data already presented in tables or figures.
The Results and Discussion sections may be combined or presented separately depending on the nature of the manuscript.
4.8 Conclusion
The conclusion should:
- Directly answer the research objective or question.
- Summarize the main findings.
- Explain the implications of the research.
- Avoid introducing new data or references.
- Be written concisely and clearly.
Recommendations may be included when relevant.
4.9 Acknowledgements
Authors may acknowledge individuals or institutions that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
Funding institutions, research grants, technical assistance, and other support should also be disclosed in this section.
4.10 Author Contributions
Authors should describe the contribution of each author to the manuscript.
Contributions may include:
- Conceptualization
- Methodology
- Data collection
- Data analysis
- Investigation
- Writing of the original draft
- Review and editing
- Supervision
- Project administration
- Funding acquisition
All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution to the research and manuscript.
4.11 Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal conflict of interest that may influence the research or interpretation of the findings.
When there is no conflict of interest, the following statement may be used:
“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article.”
4.12 Funding Statement
Authors must disclose all sources of funding and financial support.
When the research did not receive specific funding, the following statement may be used:
“This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
4.13 References
The reference list must contain only sources cited in the manuscript.
Authors are encouraged to:
- Use recent, relevant, and credible academic sources.
- Prioritize articles from reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Use references published within the last ten years, except for fundamental theories or primary sources.
- Include at least 15 references for a research article.
- Ensure that most references come from journal articles, conference proceedings, books, standards, or official scientific publications.
- Avoid excessive use of non-academic websites, blogs, anonymous sources, or unpublished materials.
SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA recommends the use of reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
- Other compatible reference managers
The citation and reference style should follow the citation style specified in the official SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA template.
- Tables
Tables must:
- Be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals.
- Have a clear and concise title placed above the table.
- Be referred to in the manuscript text.
- Present data efficiently and avoid duplication.
- Use editable table formatting rather than images.
- Include explanatory notes below the table where necessary.
- State the source below the table when the data are taken or adapted from another source.

Each table should be placed close to the paragraph where it is first discussed.
- Figures and Illustrations
Figures, graphs, diagrams, maps, photographs, and other illustrations must:
- Be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals.
- Have a clear caption placed below the figure.
- Be referred to in the manuscript text.
- Be presented in high resolution.
- Use readable text, labels, and symbols.
- Be original or accompanied by proper source attribution and permission.
- Remain clear when printed or displayed electronically.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted figures or illustrations.
- Equations and Formulas
Equations and formulas must:
- Be created using an equation editor.
- Be numbered consecutively when referred to in the text.
- Use consistent symbols and notation.
- Define all variables when they first appear.
- Avoid using equation images whenever possible.
- Abbreviations and Units
Abbreviations must be defined when first mentioned in the manuscript.
Authors should:
- Avoid excessive use of abbreviations.
- Use internationally accepted scientific units.
- Apply the International System of Units where appropriate.
- Maintain consistency in symbols, units, and terminology.
- Citation Guidelines
Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and every source in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript.
Authors must:
- Cite the original source whenever possible.
- Avoid citation manipulation.
- Avoid excessive self-citation.
- Avoid citing sources that have not been read or verified.
- Provide page numbers for direct quotations where required.
- Ensure that quotations and paraphrases are properly attributed.
- Originality and Plagiarism
Submitted manuscripts must be original.
SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA may use plagiarism-detection software to evaluate manuscript similarity.
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript does not contain plagiarism.
- All quotations are clearly identified.
- All paraphrased ideas are properly cited.
- Tables, figures, data, and images from other sources are acknowledged.
- The manuscript is not a translation, duplication, or substantial reproduction of a previously published work without proper disclosure.
Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity, plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.
- Multiple and Concurrent Submissions
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
The submission of substantially similar manuscripts to different journals is considered unethical publishing behavior.
When part of the manuscript has previously appeared in another publication, conference proceeding, thesis, repository, or preprint platform, the author must disclose this information to the editor.
- Authorship
Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the study.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:
- All eligible contributors are listed as authors.
- No individual is included as an author without a meaningful contribution.
- All authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript.
- All authors agree to the submission and publication.
- The order of authors has been approved by all authors.
Changes to authorship after submission must be approved by all authors and the editorial team.
- Research Ethics
Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or sensitive information must comply with applicable ethical standards.
Authors may be required to provide:
- Ethical approval information.
- The name of the approving ethics committee.
- Ethical approval number.
- Informed consent information.
- Permission to use confidential or personal data.
- Statements regarding participant anonymity and data protection.
Authors must protect the identity, privacy, safety, and rights of research participants.
- Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Authors must disclose the use of artificial intelligence tools when such tools have substantially contributed to the preparation of the manuscript.
Artificial intelligence tools:
- Must not be listed as authors.
- Must not replace the responsibility of human authors.
- Must not be used to fabricate data, references, quotations, or research findings.
- Must not compromise confidentiality, intellectual property, or research ethics.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and content of the submitted manuscript.
- Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
- The manuscript is not being considered by another journal.
- The manuscript follows the focus and scope of SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA .
- The official journal template has been used.
- The title, abstract, and keywords are complete.
- Author names and affiliations are accurate.
- The corresponding author has been identified.
- Tables and figures are numbered and cited in the text.
- All citations are included in the reference list.
- All references are cited in the manuscript.
- The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism.
- The manuscript has been proofread for grammar and spelling.
- All authors have approved the final manuscript.

Authors must submit manuscripts through the SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA online submission system.
The submission process generally includes:

- Uploading the manuscript.
- Entering the manuscript metadata.

- Peer-Review Process

- Proofreading
After a manuscript has been accepted and prepared for publication, the corresponding author may receive a proof version.
Authors must:

- Correct typographical and production errors.
- Avoid making major changes at the proofreading stage.
- Return the corrected proof within the specified period.
The author is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the final published version.
- Copyright and Licensing
Authors must agree to the copyright and licensing policy applied by SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA .
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- The manuscript is original.
- The manuscript does not infringe the rights of other parties.
- Permission has been obtained for copyrighted material.

- Article Processing Charges
Authors must review the journal’s Article Processing Charges policy before submitting a manuscript.
Where fees apply, the amount, payment procedure, waiver policy, and applicable conditions will be stated on the journal’s Article Processing Charges page.
Payment of an article processing charge does not guarantee manuscript acceptance. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic quality, originality, relevance, and compliance with journal policies.
- Withdrawal of Manuscripts
Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript must submit a formal written request to the editor.
The request must:
- Include the manuscript title.
- Include the submission identification number.
- Explain the reason for withdrawal.
- Be approved by all authors.
Authors should not submit the manuscript to another journal until the withdrawal has been officially confirmed by SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA .
- Corrections and Retractions
Authors must promptly inform the editor when they discover a significant error in a submitted or published manuscript.
Depending on the seriousness of the issue, SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA may publish:
- A correction.
- An erratum.
- A corrigendum.
- An expression of concern.
- A retraction notice.
Authors are expected to cooperate fully with the editorial team in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
- Editorial Rights
The editorial team reserves the right to:

- Edit manuscripts for clarity, grammar, consistency, and journal style.
- Request supporting data or documents.
- Investigate allegations of research or publication misconduct.
- Correct, retract, or remove articles in accordance with applicable ethical guidelines.
Submission of a manuscript indicates that the authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with all SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA editorial and publication policies.
