Plagiarism Screening Policy

SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA  is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in all published articles. Every manuscript submitted to the journal must be an original work and must not contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or unauthorized use of another person’s intellectual property.

Author Responsibility

Before submitting a manuscript to SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA , authors are required to conduct a similarity check independently using reliable plagiarism-detection software.

Authors must ensure that:

  1. The manuscript is an original work.
  2. All quotations are clearly identified and properly cited.
  3. All paraphrased ideas are accompanied by appropriate references.
  4. Tables, figures, data, images, and other materials taken or adapted from other sources are properly acknowledged.
  5. The manuscript has not been previously published or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
  6. The overall similarity score does not exceed 20%.
  7. Similarity from a single source is not excessive.
  8. The manuscript does not contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

Authors may be requested to submit a similarity-check report as supplementary evidence during the submission or editorial evaluation process.

Maximum Similarity Threshold

The maximum acceptable overall similarity score for manuscripts submitted to SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA  is:

20%

A similarity score below 20% does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. The editorial team may still examine the similarity report to determine whether the matched text has been properly quoted, cited, or attributed.

Bibliographies, commonly used technical terms, article templates, institutional names, and properly cited quotations may be considered during the editorial assessment.

Plagiarism Screening

The primary responsibility for conducting plagiarism screening rests with the authors before manuscript submission.

The editorial team also reserves the right to:

  • Request the author’s similarity report.
  • Conduct an additional similarity check.
  • Examine suspicious text manually.
  • Request clarification regarding duplicated or overlapping content.
  • Reject a manuscript when plagiarism or unacceptable similarity is identified.

Forms of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

Direct Plagiarism

Copying sentences, paragraphs, tables, figures, data, or other materials from another source without proper quotation and citation.

Mosaic Plagiarism

Combining words, phrases, or ideas from multiple sources without adequate acknowledgement.

Paraphrasing Plagiarism

Rewriting another author’s ideas or statements without providing an appropriate citation.

Self-Plagiarism

Reusing substantial parts of an author’s previously published work without proper citation, disclosure, or editorial permission.

Data and Image Plagiarism

Using another person’s data, figures, photographs, diagrams, illustrations, or research findings without permission and proper attribution.

Source-Based Plagiarism

Providing inaccurate, misleading, fabricated, or incomplete references to conceal the actual source of information.

Editorial Action

Any manuscript found to have an overall similarity score exceeding 20%, or containing evidence of plagiarism, will be:

Rejected immediately without entering the peer-review process.

The editor may also reject a manuscript with a similarity score below 20% when the matched content demonstrates substantial plagiarism, improper paraphrasing, excessive copying from a single source, or unauthorized reuse of previously published material.

Plagiarism Identified After Publication

When plagiarism is discovered after an article has been published, SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA  may take one or more of the following actions:

  1. Conduct an investigation into the alleged violation.
  2. Request an explanation and supporting evidence from the authors.
  3. Publish a correction or editorial notice.
  4. Publish an expression of concern.
  5. Retract the article.
  6. Notify the authors’ institution or affiliated organization.
  7. Restrict the authors from submitting manuscripts to the journal for a specified period.
  8. Take other actions considered necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Author Declaration

By submitting a manuscript to SITUSTIKA FIKUNMA , the authors declare that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The manuscript has been checked for similarity before submission.
  • The overall similarity score does not exceed 20%.
  • All sources have been appropriately cited.
  • The manuscript does not contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
  • The authors accept full responsibility for the originality and integrity of the submitted work.

Submission of a manuscript indicates that all authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this plagiarism policy.
